The Sony-Honda electric vehicle alliance unveiled a new brand and its prototype car on Thursday, while also announcing a partnership with US chipmaker Qualcomm for smart mobility technology.

Sony Honda Mobility also said that Epic Games, the producer of the hit video game Fortnite, is joining the effort to improve Internet-connected car experiences, although it did not disclose details. Sony invests in the American video game maker.

The new silver sedan prototype appeared at CES, a major technology show in Las Vegas, with Sony Honda Mobility Chairman and CEO Yasuhide Mizuno announcing that the new brand is called Afeela. The first model is expected to be delivered in spring 2026 in North America and will be based on this prototype.
