There was a lot of drama in Halifax last night, but Canada pulled it out with a goal six minutes into overtime to win the gold medal at the World Junior Hockey Championship.
It was one for the ages with Canada up 2-0 until the Czech Republic equalized.
The Czech Republic beat Canada 5-2 in the Boxing Day opener.
Connor Bedard was named tournament MVP.
Zach Dean of Mount Pearl, who has family roots in the Botwood area, says he’s never seen fans like this before in terms of intensity.
