Toronto Hydro says it is investigating several “large-scale” outages across the city.
According to the company’s outage map, customers around the Yonge-Eglinton and Morningside neighborhoods were affected by the outages.
Toronto Hydro says the outages were the result of a loss of power from Hydro One and crews are actively working to restore power.
The exact number of residents without power is unknown. As of 6 p.m., the company reported that the power supply to a large part of the affected customers had been restored.
Toronto police said they were aware of the outage and reminded drivers to treat intersections without a working traffic light as a four-way stop.
