Canada-wide warrant against man awaiting trial on 14 charges: Surrey RCMP

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a man who allegedly removed his ankle bracelet while awaiting trial for robbery and other crimes, including unlawful imprisonment.

Surrey RCMP say Jaden Kahnapace-Newton was released on Sept. 28 under strict conditions that include wearing an electronic monitoring device. The warrant was issued on Dec. 1, when police say he removed it and fled.

Police have since been unable to locate him and are warning the public to report his whereabouts.

RCMP say Kahnapace-Newton “appears to be a local resident in his early 20s.” He is just over six foot one, 243 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the Lower Mainland and Calgary.

Police urge caution if you see Kahnapace-Newton and call local police immediately.
