RCMP are expected to provide an update on a situation in Campbellton that led to an extended road closure.
Shortly after 7:00 a.m. Saturday, Lewisporte RCMP said Route 340, which runs through the small town, would be closed for several hours due to an investigation.
The road reopened nearly 12 hours later, with police saying they would remain with an increased presence in Campbellton for the next few days.
According to them, there is no threat to public safety.
RCMP are expected to provide an update on the investigation sometime today.
