If your iCloud storage is full and you have TikTok, try this

Having maxed out iCloud storage is all too common among iPhone users and it often seems pointless to even try to clear it, or so I thought.

If you edit video on your phone with TikTok and CapCut, you can get a lot of free space back by turning off the iCloud storage features for these apps. I was able to save 30GB when I tried it.

To see what’s taking up the most iCloud space on your iPhone, open the iOS Settings app. Tap your name at the top of the page, then select iCloud.

Below the graphic that shows what types of files are using storage, there should be a button called “Manage Account Storage.” Tap that, then select “Backups” from the list of items. Open your phone backups and wait for all the information to load. Once it does, it will show all the apps that are using your iCloud space and let you enable or disable individual apps manually.

As I mentioned above, when I first did this, I disabled CapCut and TikTok and got back 30GB of cloud storage. I’m assuming these are cached video files since I often put drone footage on my phone, but let us know in the comments if you never post and TikTok is still eating up iCloud space.
