RCMP in southern Alberta responded to several fatal vehicle collisions this weekend.
Sunday morning, police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 1A south of Canmore.
The two drivers were the only ones involved in the head-on collision, but one driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to Canmore General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to EMS.

Police were also on the scene of another two-vehicle head-on collision west of Fort McLeod.

Police confirmed a 26-year-old Okotoks resident was found dead when they arrived on scene. Three others, including a 5-year-old child, were taken to hospital with various serious injuries.

Officers at the scene said fog was a factor.
On Saturday, police responded to a fatal collision in Nanton, Alta., south of Calgary. A man, later identified as a 40-year-old Calgary resident, was found outside along the Nanton and District Lions Campground on Highway 533 East.
“The investigation revealed that the man was ejected from a single-vehicle rollover collision with a nearby vehicle,” police said in a news release Sunday. There were no other victims.
