The paramedics eventually left and a police officer stood by the body.

The death is not being treated as suspicious, a police spokesman said, adding that no further details would be released.

A man at the scene who spoke with police told the Free Press he found the deceased man. The man, who did not give his name, said he lives in a tent near the river.

Moments later, an officer was heard telling the man he was being held on a warrant. The officer searched the man before putting him in the back of the cruiser.

Thames Park is a large green space southwest of the center and not far from the old southern quarter of the city. An arm of the River Thames runs through it, and the areas near the water have become a frequent spot for homeless Londoners living in tents.
