Police are searching for two suspects after an 18-year-old man died following a stabbing in Ipswich town centre.
Suffolk Police have confirmed this evening that a man has died as inquiries continue into the incident on Westgate Street on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were called at 3.35pm to reports a man had been stabbed in Westgate Street.
Police are searching for two male suspects involved in the attack who were seen leaving the scene.
One suspect headed toward Providence Street and the other was seen heading toward Cornhill.
The incident comes just over a week after 16-year-old Harley Barfield died following a knife attack in Haverhill, west Suffolk.
Chief Inspector Matthew Connick said: “This was a brazen attack in the city center which will cause great distress to anyone who witnesses it. Although investigations are at an early stage, we believe this is a targeted attack.
“There will be an increased police presence in Ipswich tonight and over the coming days to provide reassurance to local residents and businesses. We know many people would have witnessed this attack and we urge you to contact us.”
Police units, armed officers and a helicopter from the Police National Aviation Service were in attendance.

Section 60 was introduced, giving officers additional powers to stop and search.
It came into effect from 4.59pm on Tuesday and will last for 24 hours.
