UPDATE: 4:43 p.m

An arrest has been made after two bodies were found at a Coldstream home on Tuesday.

On Jan. 17, at 5:32 a.m., Vernon North Okanagan RCMP received a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence in the 8500 block of Clerke Road.

Upon arrival, police found two bodies inside the home, as well as a man in potentially life-threatening condition. A fourth man was taken into custody at the scene.

The injured person was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. The death is being treated as suspicious and the RCMP’s Southeast Regional Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.

“The initial investigation leads us to believe this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to the public,” said Staff Sgt. Chris Clarke.

Police are also aware of a vehicle that was found burning on Francis Road in the BX area around Vernon.

Police said at this time no connection has been established between the two incidents, but the investigation is in its early stages and investigators will pursue all avenues.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit tip line at 1-877-987-8477.

Police tape surrounds a home in the Kal View Estates trailer park following a police incident this morning.

The RCMP emergency response team and local officials have surrounded a home in the park, but have yet to say what prompted the action.

The urgency appears to have subsided, but some police remain at the scene.

A side window of the home was broken.

A neighbor just a few doors down says she woke up to “about 25 police cars with a SWAT team and everything” outside her home.

The woman says officers told her to “get back inside.”

The neighbor said she “doesn’t want any part of what goes on there.”
