Pedestrian struck by vehicle on Albert Street West

A pedestrian is in hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Albert Street West on Wednesday morning.

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Albert Street West and Andrew Street around 8:30 a.m.

Sergeant Ray Magnan tells SooToday the vehicle was traveling south on Andrew Street when it made a left turn onto Albert Street West, striking the pedestrian who was crossing Albert Street at the time of the collision.

The pedestrian is currently in stable condition after being transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the investigation into the collision is ongoing.
