Giro launches new Aries Spherical helmet

On Thursday, Giro announced the launch of the Aries Spherical helmet. The Aries is lighter and cooler than its predecessor, the Aether, and features spherical technology.

The helmet cools riders using Giro’s DryCore sweat management system. DryCore uses an internal silicone bead to redirect moisture away from your brows.

This also ensures that you don’t get drops of sweat in your eyes when riding hot.

“A new high-end road helmet from Giro is always big news, but the Aries Spherical is unlike anything we’ve seen before,” said Peter Nicholson, Giro Brand Manager. “As bike helmet gains become incremental, Giro’s engineers are really making a difference with all the resources they have here at the Scotts Valley R&D facility.”

Aries has a small and elegant shape, which explains its lower weight. The cap weighs 265g for a medium size.

Ball and socket design via MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection) creates additional protection. In the event of an impact, there is additional protection as it redirects the energy and reduces the force on the brain. The inner frame moves so that the shock is absorbed more than the outer one.

In terms of fit, the helmet features the tried and true Roc Loc system to ensure the helmet stays firmly on your head.
