Overnight, Suffolk Police confirmed that an 18-year-old man had died in a “brazen” attack.

A number of flowers were laid outside shops along the street during Wednesday afternoon.

One message to the 18-year-old voice read: “We all love you. We’ll meet again someday bro.”

Candles were also lit in memory of the teenage girl.

Police are still looking for two suspects they believe were involved in the attack.

Police units, armed officers and a helicopter from the Police National Aviation Service were in attendance.

On Wednesday morning, the cordon was reduced.

The attack comes after 16-year-old Harley Barfield died after being stabbed in Haverhill last week.

Section 60, which gives officers extra powers to stop and search, was introduced in Ipswich.

This ended today at 5pm.

Chief Inspector Matthew Connick said on Tuesday night: “This was a brazen attack in the city center which will cause great distress to anyone who witnessed it.

“Although investigations are at an early stage, we believe this is a targeted attack.”
