The latest data from OPH shows a drop in respiratory virus levels in Ottawa since last week

The latest figures measured by Ottawa Public Health (OPH) show that levels of COVID-19, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) are down from last week’s numbers, the health unit revealed.

In its latest “Respiratory Virus Snapshot,” which is published once a week, OPH said it’s encouraging to see that while indicators show a decrease in respiratory viruses in Ottawa from the previous week, there are still high levels circulating in Ottawa.

“Every layer of protection counts, especially during these cold winter months,” OPH said in a Twitter thread. “And every action taken helps reduce the risks of these viruses continuing to spread.” Everything still matters.”

The latest data from OPH shows percent positivity rates of 2.2% for influenza (6.8% last week), 8.8% for RSV (10.9% last week) and 17.3% for COVID-19 (19 .8% last week).

Speaking of boosters and segues…

We would like to acknowledge and thank each and every one of the hundreds of thousands of Ottawa residents who came to receive their COVID-19 booster dose(s).

Thank you for helping to protect each other. (4/5)
