Monday will be a chilly day in Dallas-Fort Worth, but things will get interesting on Tuesday with some parts of North Texas potentially seeing snow.

Tuesday will start out cold and rainy for most of our area, with a chance of a wintry mix in areas north and west of the Metroplex.

A winter weather advisory goes into effect at noon Tuesday for areas north and west of the Metroplex.

The best chance to see a wintry mix in the DFW area will be Tuesday night into the early morning hours of Wednesday.

Temperatures are expected to stay above freezing, so you shouldn’t expect snow to stick around until next morning.

It probably won’t have a big impact on the roads, but TxDOT isn’t taking any chances.

Things dry out after the system moves through the area.

Temperatures will be cold for the rest of the week with lows around 30 degrees Wednesday through Friday.

Things warm up a bit heading into the weekend with a 20% chance of rain on Saturday.
