Two people have died and 12 have been injured in a serious eight-car crash on the M40.
It happened at around 8.15am this morning (22/1) between Stokenchurch and High Wycombe.
Two people are seriously injured and hospitalized.
Ten people suffered minor injuries, some of whom were taken to hospital for further examinations.
Unfortunately, a woman in her 60s and a man in her 70s died at the scene.
Their relatives are informed and supported by specially trained staff.
Thames Valley Police, fire crews, ambulance services and the National Highway Traffic Service attended with the Thames Valley Air Ambulance landing on the motorway.
Both lanes were closed, but the northbound lane was reopened at around 11.30am.
On Sunday afternoon, police were investigating the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Mike Bettington, from the Joint Task Force Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the two who died.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage to contact us.”
