A Greats Cove woman is accused of crashing her vehicle, then boarding a school bus and assaulting two students inside.
The incident happened just after 3:00pm on Tuesday when Harbor Grace RCMP responded to a one-vehicle crash involving a suspected impaired driver.
The school bus driver arrived at the scene and stopped to see if he needed help. According to RCMP, the woman involved in the crash then boarded the bus, which was carrying students in grades 7-12, and assaulted two students inside. Then a second empty school bus arrived on the scene. Police say the woman also boarded that bus but was held inside until police arrived.
Thirty-seven-year-old Nicole Driscoll was arrested at the scene for driving while impaired and assault.
Driscoll, who was under the terms of a court order to be released, was taken into custody and appeared in court today. She is charged with two counts of assault, assaulting a police officer, refusing a breathalyzer request and failing to comply with her release order.
The investigation continues.
