OnePlus has confirmed that it will launch a second phone alongside the OnePlus 11 on February 7.
After the news leaked via an erroneous listing on Amazon, OnePlus took to Twitter to confirm that it will be announcing the OnePlus 11R at its launch event on February 7.
As the source of this confirmation suggests, the OnePlus 11R will be an India-only version. It is a follow-up to last year’s OnePlus 10R, which was also targeted for launch in India, which has become a core market for the Oppo-owned brand.
The accompanying announcement for the OnePlus 11R claims that the phone will represent The Shape of Power. This is despite the fact that it will almost certainly be significantly cheaper than the flagship OnePlus 11.
To that end, reports suggest that the OnePlus 11R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip. That’s older and slower (and therefore cheaper) than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that powers the OnePlus 11, but still would make a very powerful component for a mid-range phone.
The OnePlus 11R is also said to feature a 5,000mAh battery and 100W charging support, both of which will be a match for the OnePlus 11.
OnePlus’ February 7th launch event, which is being labeled as ‘Cloud 11’, will also see the global debut of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 true wireless headphones with their fantastic spatial audio and Dynaudio-enhanced sound.
Meanwhile, India will get another exclusive device in the form of the OnePlus TV 65 Q2 Pro.
