Jay Leno broke multiple bones in a motorcycle accident

Jay Leno just can’t catch a break. Just months after suffering serious burns in a car fire, the comedian and avid enthusiast is already recovering from several broken bones caused by a motorcycle accident, he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“It’s so funny you have to say that,” Leno said in response to the Review-Journal’s question about his burns. “That was the first incident. OK? Then last week I got knocked off my bike. So I have a broken collarbone. I have two broken ribs. I have two torn kneecaps.’

Despite a seemingly long list of pretty serious injuries from the Jan. 17 incident, Leno, 72, assured the Review-Journal that he’s “OK,” confirming that he still plans to work this weekend.

Leno would go on to explain that he was testing a 1940 Indian motorcycle and noticed the smell of leaking fuel (sound familiar?).

“So I turned down a side street and crossed a parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, some guy had a wire strung across the parking lot, but no flag hanging from it,” Leno told the Review-Journal. “So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. Toku-see hooked me by clothes and, boom, knocked me off the bike.”

The former Tonight Show host decided not to publicize the incident due to the huge amount of coverage generated by his burning saga in November.

“You know, once you get burned, you get that for free,” Leno told the Review-Journal. “Then you’re Harrison Ford, wrecking planes. You just want to keep your head down (laughs).”
