Dyche is the new manager of Everton

Everton Football Club can confirm the appointment of Sean Dyche as the club’s new men’s team manager.

Dyche has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal until June 2025 and will take charge for the first time in the Blues’ Premier League clash against Arsenal at Goodison Park on Saturday, February 4.

One of the most respected and experienced managers in the Premier League, Dyche will be supported by former Nottingham Forest winger Ian Vaughan as his assistant manager, former England international Steve Stone as first-team coach and Mark Howard, who will support sports science provision . All three staff previously worked with Dyche at Burnley.

Disch said: “I am honored to become manager of Everton. My team and I are ready and eager to help get this great club back on track.

“I know about the passionate Everton fanbase and how much this club means to them. We are ready to work and give them what they want. It starts with shirt sweat, effort and a return to some of the core principles of what Everton Football Club has stood for for a long time.

“We want to bring back the good feeling. We need the fans, we need unity and we need everyone together. That starts with us as staff and players.

“Our goal is to create a team that works, that fights and wears the badge with pride. Then the relationship with the fans can grow very quickly because they are so passionate.

“There is quality in this team. But we have to make them shine. This is the work of me and my team.

“We want to change the shape of this club going forward, remake it in our style but in a way that we can win. That is the task before us – to make sure that we build, tactically and technically, giving organization to the players, to allow them the freedom to play, to go and enjoy their football, because it is great when the team plays with a smile, but we must win.”

After a career as a centre-back spanning nearly two decades, Dyche first became a manager at Watford, working his way up from the under-18s to the team’s senior manager and guiding the Hornets to their best league position in four years in his first season in charge .

During almost 10 years at Burnley, Dyche made a name for himself as a top-class manager, building a competitive and energetic side that won promotion from the Championship in a record first campaign in 2013/14 and went on to consistently challenge the Premier League’s elite – the highlight is seventh place in 2017/18 and qualification for the Europa League.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright said: “Kevin and I spent valuable time with Sean over the last few days and he quickly convinced me that he has exactly the right qualities to make a great Everton manager – and someone who can inspire our fan base. And Farhad felt the same when he met him.”
