The fire broke out in the 100 block of Tancred Street just after 8:30 p.m.; the cause of the fire is currently unknown
Marie Fire and Sault Ste. Marie Police Services responded to a report of a residential fire in the 100 block of Tancred Street shortly after 8:30 p.m.
Smoke could be seen from the upper window of the house.
Traffic is blocked on Tancred Street between Albert Street East and Wellington Street East; Albert Street East is also blocked near Tancred Street as fire crews hook the hose to an Albert hydrant extending to the Tancred house.
Traffic on Albert Street East is diverted to Abbot Street due to the hose.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
No injuries were reported.
