46 mins City starts the second half. Diaz seems to have a hamstring problem, so he should have doubts about the Wolves and West Ham.
Ruben Diaz is injured. Fernandinho replaces him. City are pretty short in defense now, with Diaz, John Stones and Kyle Walker injured.
“I don’t think these billboards are double the height,” says Joe Pearson. “I think they’re staggering and they just look like they’re on double-height television. You can see people between the layers. “
That’s exactly what they want you to think.

“Please, can we give up the pretense that City will lose points in their last four games,” said Rick Harris. “They will not do it. The champions will keep their title and save their season. I guess that buys Pep another Champions League title, although any other top-class club would surely fire him?
I politely disagree. Real Madrid can fire him; I don’t think any other team in world football would do that. For starters, the man is about to win his fourth league title in five years and his 10th out of 13!
I think City will win the league, but that’s not certain – West Ham is a particularly dangerous game, especially since they are still on the hunt for sixth place. But this result last night makes a difference, as it means that City can afford to equalize the match.

Half reading
Half time: Manchester City 2-0 Newcastle United
There are no signs of a hangover for Manchester City, which is returning to the top of the Premier League. Rahim Stirling’s header in the 19th minute calmed them down after a somewhat hesitant start, and Aymeric Laporte made two just before halftime.
Newcastle started well and Chris Wood had to give them the lead, but by the end of the half they were begging for mercy.
44 mins. And here are City’s goals.
42 mins. “Now I understand why I struggled to see players on throws and corners yesterday on TV,” said Szabolcs Mikulas. “It’s really confusing when a double-height dashboard shows an ad in a color similar to the color of the player’s kit.”
Don’t tell me they do it elsewhere. This barbarism must stop!
41 minutes. City’s goal difference is already one better than that of Liverpool. That could still be a factor if Liverpool win all their games and City lose one of their own.
De Bruyne shot in the right corner to the edge of the zone, where Gundogan twisted his body to volley the goal. Dubravka could not keep him from rebounding, and although he bravely blocked Diaz’s follow-up, Laporte swallowed the six-yard loose ball.
Everyone was interested, and the goal is worth it! Dubravka had to cope better with Gundogan’s blow.

GOAL! Man City 2-0 Newcastle (Laporte 38)
It will be checked for offside, but I think City are leading 2-0.

37 min. City are playing very well now. As another patient moved to the left, Stirling nailed a cross to Jesus, who was intercepted by a stretching Byrne. He had a good half.
35 minutes. This is the top of the Premier League table, as things stand.
34 mins City open Newcastle with a beautiful pass from the left. In the end, De Bruyne plays Zinchenko, whose low cross simply avoids Jesus in the six-yard penalty area. Byrne (I think) did a good job of removing him from the ball.
32 mins De Bruyne, in the inner right canal, raises an incredible cross / pass over Lascelles to find Jesus on the far pillar. He makes a touch and is about to shoot when Byrne puts the ball in the back for a corner.
31 mins. The impressive Gundogan whistles on a long drive right away. Dubravka flew through the door, but was not close to her.
And when the ball is out of play, Guimaraes really gets a yellow card for this Grealish challenge.
30 min. Guimaraes track Grealish, very bad challenge. The advantage is played, but I’m sure he will receive a yellow card if City loses the ball.
27 mins “I’ll never forget the TWA ad,” says Stephen, “especially when it was immediately followed by TWA…”
26 min: Dubravaka saves from Cancello! Sterling cuts inside to the right and passes a nice pass from the side to Cancello. He shook a shot from a very narrow corner, which is blocked on a nearby beam from Dubravka. Looking back, Cancello probably had to cross this, a message that Jack Grillish also conveys.
24 mins: Newcastle have a rejected goal! A deep corner was aimed at the door from Laskeles and hit Guimaraes in the offside position. He bounced to Wood, who finished quietly, but then the flag rose against Guimaraes. I think Lascelles’s header would have gone if it hadn’t been blocked by his own teammate.

22 mins “It’s not as encouraging for Liverpool fans (like me) as your possession statistics.
Yes, but Newcastle drew 1-1 on this field in February 2005, so what is your goal?

Gundogan cut a flat, angular pass to Cancello, who made a superb run at Saint Maximin. Cancello slyly banged his head over Dan Byrne to find Stirling, who bent down and leaned into the empty net a few yards away.

17 mins. “I really hope these double-height live billboards don’t turn into something,” says Hugh Moloy. “It simply came to our notice then. Once noticed, it cannot go unnoticed. I’m sorry. “
Once spotted, it can’t go unnoticed, you say. I DIDN’T NOTICE THEM AND NOW I CAN’T STOP WATCHING THEM, SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THAT. You’re right, they’re terrible. I miss the simplicity of the old days, when the treasures of Smirnoff and Campari sat side by side with underestimated dignity.

15 minutes: Chance for Cancelo! City did not play so well, but they could have scored twice. De Bruyne, on the left, makes a wonderful cross with his left foot to find Cancello in the space of the far pillar. He pounces on the ball and cuts the hemisphere wide up close. These half-volleys are never easy to perform, but for a player of his class, etc. and so on.
14 minutes Newcastle seem confident and calm in possession and if I were a Liverpool fan, I would be encouraged from this start. In fact, as I write, a small box of Sky Sports tells us that Newcastle has owned 57 percent of its holdings so far. This is an exceptional statistic.
10 minutes: Chance for Laporte! And now City is missing an excellent opportunity. De Bruyne’s curling corner on the left found Laporte, who easily lost to Byrne, but then fired a volley over the eight-yard post.
8 mins: What a chance for Wood! Honey, Newcastle needs to be ahead. Saint-Maximin has an age to choose the right center. He chooses Wood, who pulls away from Cancello on the six-yard line, but heads straight for Ederson.
City’s 8 minutes started off pretty well, although Newcastle had two or three periods of anxiety.
6 minutes … and De Bruyne shakes him away from a nearby pole.
5 min. Grillish is fouled just outside the Guimaraes area. The free kick is near the left end of the field …
2 minutes Quick start from City. Gundogan played dai-i-goss first with Rodri and then with Stirling before Berne stepped in to make a good interception.

1 min Peep peep! Newcastle starts from right to left as we watch.
The players came out, Blue Moon was sung. Manchester City are about to show us the life of the mind.

Eddie Howe also speaks
“[Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier] they are not ready to start, but it is a huge task for everyone to have them on the bench. The pressure is on us today – we have high expectations of ourselves and we want to come here and present a good performance.
Pep Guardiola speaks
“The mood is much better than yesterday, and yesterday was much better than the day before. This is normal; it’s a matter of time. This is football, this is life. We did a lot, a lot of good things, it happened and that’s it … The Liverpool result doesn’t change anything for us. We have to win our matches. “
Manchester is a wonderful afternoon, not the conditions where you want to chase the ball for 90 minutes.
Premier League results
The three matches from 14:00 have just ended. It was another good day for Everton. At the time last week, they had a five-point safety deviation; now they are on top …
