Road closures, power outages and school closures dominated headlines in parts of eastern prairies and northwestern Ontario on Wednesday as a powerful multi-day storm hit the region, creating dangerous conditions that are likely to remain in effect until the weekend.
STRONG WINDS OF WIND
Wind gusts of up to 70 km / h have been observed, which further reduces visibility.
“Don’t plan to travel – this storm has the potential to be the worst blizzard in decades,” Canada’s environmental and climate change warning said. “Stock up on supplies and medicines now.”
