Samsung’s Galaxy Flip 4 may have only a slightly larger battery than its predecessor.
According to a new rumor from the Dutch edition GalaxyClub, the upcoming folding will include a pair of batteries with model numbers “EB-BF721ABY” and “EB-BF722ABY”. According to the leak, the cells will measure 2400 mAh and 903 mAh, which will be a total of 3303 mAh. With this in mind, Samsung will probably advertise the Flip 4 battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh (typical).
This battery improvement is minimal, as the Flip 3 has a 3300 mAh battery. In my review of Flip 3, I noted that the phone’s battery does not last all day, citing it as one of the otherwise stable problems of the smartphone.
I find that if I use the device constantly, starting at 9 am, it only lasts until about 7 pm. Checking the battery settings of the Flip 3 reveals that I always get a maximum of four and a half hours to turn on the screen from the device.
I doubt that the Flip 4 will offer a better battery life than its predecessor, unless Samsung develops new techniques to manage battery life. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is expected to launch sometime in August or September.
