Today, the United States continues our strong support for the brave people of Ukraine as it defends its country against Russia’s ongoing aggression. I am announcing another security aid package that will provide additional artillery ammunition, radar and other equipment to Ukraine.
The United States has provided historic security assistance to Ukraine at a rapid pace. We send the weapons and equipment that Congress has authorized directly to the front line of freedom in Ukraine. US support, along with the contributions of our allies and partners, has been crucial in helping Ukraine win the battle of Kyiv and thwarting Putin’s military goals in Ukraine.
With today’s announcement, my administration has almost exhausted funding that can be used to send security aid through the withdrawal authorities to Ukraine. For Ukraine to succeed in this next phase of the war, its international partners, including the United States, must continue to demonstrate our unity and our determination to maintain the flow of arms and ammunition to Ukraine without interruption. Congress must quickly provide the requested funding to strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield and at the negotiating table.
