An elderly man died in a crash in Garrowhill after a car crashed into a tree

An elderly man died after his car crashed into a tree in the Garouhill area of ​​the city.

Emergency services were called to Glasgow Road around 8:20 a.m. on April 24 after reports that a car had left the roadway and hit a tree.

The 80-year-old driver of the black Audi A3 was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Police are still investigating the crash and called on all those traveling in the area at the time of the incident to report.

Sergeant Douglas Scott of the Glasgow Traffic Police Department said: “At this time, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased, following their tragic loss.

“As we continue our investigations, I would urge anyone who has information that could help with our investigation or any video footage to contact us.”
