Vicki White at a hotel before helping Casey White escape from prison shown in a video

Recent footage shows Vicki White at the hotel where she stayed the night before helping murder suspect Casey White escape from prison while authorities continue to search for the couple.

A video released by Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday shows Vicki White leaving the Quality Inn in Florence, Alabama – near the Lauderdale County Jail, where she worked as a correctional officer – around 6:30 a.m. April 29, according to a report by Alabama Live.

She went to work after spending the night at the hotel. Three hours later, she claims that she left with White and told her colleagues that she was taking him for a mental health examination. Instead, she helped him escape from prison, and two have not been seen since in a case that has plagued people in the United States.

Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton could not say exactly why she was staying at the hotel and not at home, but suggested she may have done so to avoid meeting with her family, Alabama Live reported. She sold her home about a month ago and has lived with her mother ever since.

In the video, she is seen at the reception desk and seems to be looking for someone to help her check while walking. Many viewers on social media said she looked nervous at the footage.

The 2007 orange or copper Ford Edge, believed to be the couple’s travel, was also found in a parking lot near the hotel on the night of April 28. A car that was seen driving in a separate video for surveillance was also found abandoned in the same parking lot.

Their jeep was later found about two hours from prison near Nashville.

The U.S. Marshall Service is offering a $ 10,000 reward for the arrest of Casey White and a $ 5,000 reward for the arrest of Vicki White (the two have no connection). Authorities said both charges would be filed once they are found.

Casey White was jailed before the upcoming court hearing on death charges. He is accused of fatally stabbing 58-year-old Connie Ridgeway in September 2020 and pleading guilty to murder.

Lauderdale County Attorney Chris Connelly said that once they were found, Casey White would be charged with first-degree escape (a crime), and Vicki White could be charged as an accomplice, as well as a separate charge of aiding his escape.
