After an exhausting week in which his party was defeated in the local elections, Boris Johnson was probably counting on a few calmer days.
Any sense of calm was disturbed in the early hours of today, when a car crashed into the front garden of the town hall of the Prime Minister for 1.3 million British pounds.
Police were called to the property in south London at 1.19am after the Vauxhall Astra crashed into the front wall, damaging a hedge and a tree.
The incident sparked speculation on the residential street as to whether the crash was a deliberate act of sabotage or the result of poor traffic calming measures.
A neighbor said the house, which has been under renovation for the past six months, has been the subject of recent protests.
