Arrest for murder after the death of a man after falling out of a window – latest updates

A man died after falling from the window of a Longmoor Lane building in Walton on Sunday night. Another man was arrested on suspicion of murder and the A506 remained closed in both directions until about 5 a.m., with police still on the scene.

In a statement released in the early hours of Monday morning, Merseyside police said: “At around 9.55pm on Sunday, May 8, we received a signal that a 40-year-old man had fallen from the window of a Longmoor Lane property near Inglis Street. Road.

“Ambulance arrived and the man was taken to hospital, where he unfortunately died. His close relatives are in the process of being informed.

“A 43-year-old man is known on suspicion of murder, who is known to the victim, who has been detained and will be questioned by the police.

“Video of video surveillance, house to house and forensic investigations into the incident are ongoing. There are currently closed roads on Longmoor Lane between Greenwich Road and Hall Road while investigations are underway. Motorists are advised to see that alternative routes are possible.”

Detective Inspector Gary Stratton added: “We are at an extremely early stage of the investigation and I would urge anyone with any information to come forward.

“Investigations are ongoing to find out exactly what happened and our staff are on site as we conduct house-to-house inspections and gather information. If you have seen or heard any suspicious behavior in the area tonight, please let us know.

“Similarly, if you’ve ridden on Longmoor Lane and have footage from the dashboard, please review it and contact us if you see anything. All the information you have can be vital to our investigation. “
