A 79-year-old pensioner has died after escaping from a ladder while using a chainsaw, neighbors said.
An ambulance was called to a home in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, to report a “serious injury” around 11 a.m. Friday morning.
Numerous ambulance crews found the man in “critical condition”, but he was tragically pronounced dead on the spot.
The victim has not been named publicly and there are no official details on how he died.
However, several locals who live near the man said that “the chainsaw he used hit him after he got off the ladder”.
A neighbor said: “He was one of the nicest old boys you can hope to meet.
“He lived in the house with his wife. He was very proud of his garden and especially of the hedge.
‘It’s so sad. We are very close on this path and we are really shocked by what happened. ‘

Aircraft observer Andy Harrington was on his bicycle when an air ambulance finally followed to the man’s house.
Mr Harrington described an armed response that arrived at the home.
“I was told that the armed officers were medically trained and were in the area at the time,” Mr Harrington said.
The local also said that the neighbors told him that the accident was with a chainsaw.
Police did not treat the death as suspicious and a report was prepared for the investigator.
