Colleen Rooney Trial Against Rebecca Vardi

Rooney’s lawyer accuses Vardi of “deleting materials”

Rooney’s lawyer accused Vardi of “making a concerted effort to ensure that many relevant and incriminating documents do not find their way to us.”

He mentioned that Ms Watt had been dumped in the North Sea, the loss of data from Jamie Vardy’s WhatsApp account and the loss of data from Ms Watt’s account.

Mr Sherborn said they were disappointed with the search for evidence of deleted messages on Vardy’s electronic devices, including messages between her and Sun journalist Andy Halls.

“It seems clear that Ms. Vardi is responsible for the deliberate deletion of the material,” he said.

“These deletions were deliberately carried out by Ms Vardy. I state the obvious when I say that a person would erase them only if a, you are guilty, and b, you are trying to hide the incriminating evidence that proves it.

Vardy denied deliberately deleting material, and her lawyer this morning called the allegations “absurd.”

Mr Sherborn also told the Supreme Court that reports that had been recovered between Vardy and Ms Wat showed that stories had leaked to the media and that they had “invented” an alibi if Rooney found out.

In February 2019, Mr. Sherborn added, when Rooney first raised the possibility of her Instagram stories being shared with the media, Ms. Watt wrote: “If he tries to say it or that it was me and it is undeniably obvious what we do. ”I will say that I left the company I worked for in January and one of the girls in the office has my old laptop with your passwords stored on it, so they will be and now you will have to change everything.

In response, Vardy said, “Okay! I just don’t know how she’ll ever know that unless Halls leaks it, in that case, please don’t give it to him. [Mr X] things x ”.

Mr X is said to be information about an English player who is the father of an illegitimate child.

Mr Sherborn said the alleged alibi was used in October 2019 by Vardy in a public statement after Rooney’s claim was published online.

The lawyer later said there was evidence that Vardy had been cited as a source in the Secret Wag column in an exchange of emails between Daniel Lloyd’s agent and MailOnline news editor.

Ms. Vardy had the means to access Ms. Rooney’s personal Instagram account, had the opportunity through links to reporters at The Sun, and had the motive to secretly pass on information from Ms. Rooney’s account the way we say, that he did.

“When you follow him, you come to the answer that Ms. Vardi is responsible for the secret transmission of information that is the subject of this case.

Mr Sherborn called Vardi “thirsty for glory” and suggested to the court that Wag had “watched” Rooney’s Instagram account.
