Google’s new Pixel Buds Pro debuted on Wednesday at the $ 199 Google I / O developer conference (which turns to around £ 160 and AU $ 290), and the new wireless headphones have a special focus on active noise reduction.
Google said the new headphones, which go on sale on July 21, include built-in sensors to measure pressure in the ear canal. Google says the technology, called SilentSeal, is designed to provide a tight seal to block out outside sound while avoiding the feeling of a clogged ear.

As for the noise reduction itself, Google says it pairs custom speakers with a custom six-core audio chip that works with the company’s algorithms.
The Pixel Buds Pro case supports wireless charging.
Google also provides Pixel Buds with spatial audio, a feature expected to arrive later in 2022, with support for movies and TV shows on compatible Pixel phones.
The wireless headset will also support multi-point Bluetooth connectivity, which will allow the headset to automatically switch between two devices. Google says this will include any device, including iOS devices. Multipoint connectivity has been available for other headsets and wireless headsets in the past and is especially useful when switching between phone and computer.
Pixel Buds Pro will also be waterproof IPX4, and the case will be waterproof IPX2 with wireless charging support. Google says the headphones will last 11 hours of listening time or up to 7 hours of active noise reduction. They will also be available in four colors: coral (reddish-pink), lemongrass (yellow), mist (white) and charcoal (black).
Pixel Buds Pro was among a number of announcements made by Google on Wednesday, including the unveiling of the Pixel 6A and early glances at the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, the Pixel Watch, the Pixel tablet and updates to Android 13 (here’s how to download the beta).
