Five years after the release of his Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece DAMN, Kendrick Lamar finally returned today with his new album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, for which he also announced a supporting world tour.

In collaboration with his own label pgLang, Aftermath, Interscope and Top Dawg Entertainment, the record is divided into two volumes of nine songs – including features from Beth Gibbons of Portishead, Summer Walker, Ghostface Killah, Thundercat, Baby Keem, Sampha and others.

Lamar announced his latest project with Top Dawg Entertainment in August last year, when he launched the mysterious Oklama website with an allusive statement about his next job.

Earlier this week, the rapper unveiled the album’s cover – an intimate bedroom scene shot by Rendel Medrano – and released “The Heart Part 5”, the latest in a long-running series with music accompanying video. The video, filled with profound forgeries, opened with a cover card that read, “It’s me. We all”.

We all have to heal.
