ASUS is working hard to release Android 12 updates for its smartphone portfolio. Last week, Taiwanese OEM released a beta version of Android 12 for the two-year ROG Phone 3. ZenFone 7 and 7 Pro, ASUS’s leading flagships from 2020, were also on the line to receive the same treatment. True to its word, the company has already initiated the steady release of an Android 12 update for ZenFone 7 series owners worldwide.
The latest version for the ZenFone 7 range comes in the form of software version 31.0210.0210.250. The new version brings all the new features introduced in Android 12, along with a few small changes to ASUS ‘own Zen UI. Because the vanilla ZenFone 7 (ZS670KS) and its Pro version (ZS671KS) share the same firmware base, the notes for the device duo version are identical.
Here is the official register of changes:
- Please back up your data before upgrading to Android 12. If you want to downgrade to Android 11 via the official software package, it will delete all data from your device
- Upgraded system to Android 12
- Updated mobile manager, contacts, phone, file manager, calculator, clock, gallery, time, sound recording, settings, data transfer, local backup, setup wizard, system update apps
- Fixed the quick settings panel, notification tray and volume panel to the design of Android 12
- Added privacy dashboard, camera and microphone indicators, clipboard access display, approximate location access, and microphone access features
- Replaced ASUS Safeguard with spare emergency SOS
- I presented the new design of the page with widgets in Launcher. Adjusts the position of the screenshot option and removes the hotseat application icons on the Preview page.
- We have removed the layout option for quick settings in the display settings
- ASUS Phone has removed support for SIP calls
- Added animation to boot the system
- Combine WiFi and mobile network options with Internet settings
Many of the new features in this update are directly related to the design of Android 12, including privacy indicators and a revised volume bar. The Quick Settings panel has also been modified to provide users with a better experience.

According to ASUS, the software is distributed in batches, so it may take several days to see the update. To check if Android 12 is available for your ZenFone 7/7 Pro, go to Settings> System> System Updates. The company has not yet released the full update package, so there is still no way to manually load the new version.
