Here is today’s answer to Wordle # 337 plus a helpful tip for Sunday, May 22nd

Welcome to another part where I give you the answer to Wordle, as everyone is looking to keep their stripes alive or trying to rebuild it from scratch. I’m going to embarrass my writing colleague Eric, who actually failed this one, but I got it at four, so I’m pretty happy with that.
It’s not a difficult word, but Eric makes a good point where sometimes word formatting can be too common and there may be too many possible answers to match all your other letters, and you just run out of guesses just because of bad luck. . So just be careful and maybe adopt alternative letter elimination strategies to help your chances.

Today’s answer and hint of Wordle # 337
Before we go any further, I’ll give you a spoiler warning for Wordle’s response in case you don’t want to know and happen to be here. In terms of hint, the answer is the reason I write this money. That is, this is the hint.
And the answer is …

I mean, what do you think I’m doing just for fun? Internet points? No! Money! I mean, it’s not like I made the game and sold it to the New York Times for a few million dollars, but writing about it isn’t bad either, given the level of interest.
So how did I win today while Eric lost? I started with CRANE, as always, which put only N and E in the wrong places. From there I guessed PENTI. What is PENTS? I have no idea, apparently it’s a “canopy with a sloping roof, or a sloping roof protruding from a wall or side of a building to house a door,” so the answer was accepted. But I don’t think it will ever be a real answer. Anyway, that at least got me N in the right place. From there I guessed DINED where I missed Ds and Ds, but at least I finally found N and E in the right place. From there I tried MONEY, which was correct, but I guess I could also guess HONEY. my lucky one.
