Ipswich: When will the bins be emptied this holiday weekend

As roads are closed for street parties to celebrate the Queen’s platinum anniversary next week, there will be some disruption to the collection of bins.

During the four-day weekend, some roads in the city may be closed during street parties.

A spokesman for the Ipswich Municipal Council said: “Our garbage collection is exactly the same as normal during the jubilee holidays, with one exception.

“If your street is closed on Thursday, June 2, or Friday, June 3, to have a street party, the closure of which is authorized by the Suffolk County Council, we will instead hold the rally on Monday, June 6.

For those who live on the outskirts of Ipswich and may fall under a different local council, here’s when your bins will be collected over the weekend on public holidays:

Baberg District and Mead Suffolk Council:

Meetings, which would normally take place on Thursday, June 2, will be held on Saturday, June 4.

The collections, which usually take place on Friday, June 3, will now take place on Monday, June 6.

All gatherings in the week beginning Monday, June 6, will take place a day later than usual.

East Suffolk Council:

A spokeswoman for the East Suffolk Council confirmed that there would be no change in the collection of bins over the anniversary weekend and people should present their bins for collection as usual.
