Tottenham have confirmed that Ivan Perisic will sign a two-year contract after leaving Inter Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have confirmed the signing of Croatian national team player Ivan Perisic with a free transfer. The 33-year-old will join a two-year contract when his contract with Internazionale expires at the end of June.

Perisic is working with Antonio Conte at Inter, where they won the Serie A title in 2020-21 and refused a new contract there. His arrival marks a departure from Tottenham’s usual policy of signing younger players with a sell-off value and is an additional signal that they are giving their full support to Conte.

Perisic also won championships in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich and scored a goal in the World Cup final. Conte will like his flexibility. The manager has placed him as a left-back at Inter, but Perisic can also play as a winger, second striker or attacking midfielder.

He left Inter after seven years and posted on Instagram: “After 254 games, 55 goals, 49 assists, 3 trophies and 18,934 minutes spent on the field wearing this glorious shirt; my journey here is over… For the team, the staff, all the staff, but the most important thing for the fans: you will always have a special place in my heart. ”

The signing is the beginning of what is expected to be a busy summer for the Spurs, as they are trying to build a team that Conte believes is capable of challenging the Premier League and the Champions League. He will receive most of the £ 150m that owner Enik invested in the club last week, as well as all player sales revenue.

Conte wants at least six signings and Harry Winx, Stephen Bergwine, Giovanni Lo Celso and Tangi Ndombele are ready to leave.

Perisic’s arrival may not be the only gathering of the Spurs, who are believed to be interested in re-signing Christian Eriksen with a free transfer. The Danish international, who also worked with Conte at Inter, is considering his future after a successful return to the Premier League with Brentford.

The Spurs agreed to sign for free with 34-year-old goalkeeper Fraser Forster when his contract with Southampton expired.
