Amazon Cloud Cam users receive a free camera when the service is stopped

Amazon will distribute a free camera to Cloud Cam subscribers after revealing plans to suspend its service.

The Verge and MacRumors have revealed that users will be offered a free Blink Mini security camera and a one-year subscription to the Blink Subscription Plus service (estimated at $ 100 per year) from Amazon before the service ends on December 2.

Owners will also receive a 4th generation Echo speaker as a replacement for the smart home center.

Amazon customers have received an email about shutting down Cloud Cam servers, where Amazon says it plans to focus on Blink, Ring and other smart home devices. This means that video storage will no longer be available and the ability to connect to smart locks via Cloud Cam Key Edition will end until it is replaced by Echo.

However, although the camera is free, features such as quick video access and motion-based recording will cost about $ 30 USD per year (approximately $ 38 CAD) as part of a major subscription to Amazon-owned Blink.
