iOS 16 lets you turn on haptic feedback for your iPhone’s keyboard

Apple announced on Monday that iOS 16 will allow you to turn on the haptic when typing, which means you’ll feel a slight vibration every time you press a key on your iPhone’s virtual keyboard. Apple’s Haptic – powered by the company’s Taptic Engine – is one of the best out there for mobile phones (although many Android devices have caught up), and now you’ll feel a satisfying pulse while chatting with friends or composing email.

Previously, if you wanted haptic feedback on your keyboard, one option was to go to … Google. The search company added haptic feedback to its Gboard keyboard for iPhone in 2019. I personally gave up using third-party keyboards years ago because it’s much easier to just use Apple’s standard keyboard and I haven’t tried haptic feedback keyboard connection for me. With iOS 16 I will definitely try it.

Haptic keyboard feedback is just one of many updates to iOS 16 unveiled during WWDC 2022.
