The Toronto School Board says police are investigating a threat at a school on the east end of the city while the blockade at the institution has been lifted.
The TDSB says all students at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Collegiate, located on Guildwood Parkway and Livingston Road in Scarborough, are safe.
Due to a separate threat, TDSB says Jack Miner Senior Public School, also located in Scarborough just blocks away, has been detained and secured, but the measure has also been lifted.
There is no known link between the two threats at this time.
Detention and security in several other institutions, given their proximity, were also removed. These institutions include: Guildwood Junior Public School, Maplewood High School, Eastview Public School, Poplar Road Junior Public School and Elizabeth Simcoe Junior Public School.
Police said on Friday that a student in the Guildwood area had called and left a message of concern. At 9:30 a.m. this morning, they say another call came in.
Police are on site to conduct an inspection.
