A 30-year-old man died after a shooting in Toronto on Wednesday night, police and paramedics said.
The shooting took place in the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Mossbank Drive, east of Scarborough Golf Club Road. Police say they are looking for a number of suspects.
Several callers said they heard gunfire at 8pm and saw someone lying on the ground, police said. When police arrived on the scene, they found a man with gunshot wounds.
Const. A spokesman for the Toronto Police Department confirmed that the man had died. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation was taken over by detectives from the Homicide Department. Officers glued a large area in front of a residential building and toured the neighborhood on Wednesday night.
Police are urging citizens to be vigilant in the area.
