One of the biggest storylines of the Warriors’ 116-100 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of the NBA Finals was the audience at TD Garden on Wednesday night.
Boston fans in attendance were heard chanting “Draymond sucks” and “F-k you Draymond!”
Celtics striker Grant Williams defended violent fans on Thursday after the team’s shootout, downplaying the seriousness of the remarks.
“I feel it’s not the worst thing I’ve ever heard,” Williams told reporters. “Some of these chants you just accept. Some people respond well, some hug them, others are afraid of them.
“I have a feeling that Garden fans are not holding back. This is what I love about them. They will be there for you on the positive side and let you know if you are doing the right thing or not. When we lost last year, they did the same to us. So we respect him. “
Williams believes that the environment in TD Garden has given the Celtics a competitive advantage and explained what he thinks should be the thinking of the opposing team in this environment.
“As a player for me, I love him because at the end of the day they do it for a reason,” Williams added. “So either you accept it, especially if you’re on the road, it’s like you’ll get it wherever you go. You walk down the street, you get something like that.
“For me, it’s like you have to accept it. Better enjoy it and accept it as a competitive advantage and use it against them. The next thing you know, you guys run away, shut them up, now you can talk the garbage back. “

Both coach Steve Kerr and Clay Thompson spoke out against the inappropriate chanting, and Green himself admitted in the last episode of “The Draymond Green Show” that he left the atmosphere to touch him.
Warriors can certainly expect more from the same in Game 4 on Friday.
