Selected models of Apple’s new M2 MacBook Pro are postponed until August

Apple recently launched its new 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro for sale. Although many of the new units are expected to be delivered by the end of the month, many SKUs have been postponed until August.

The 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro is available for purchase now. Depending on the configurations, estimates for the delivery of the device of 1699 dollars are still until June 24. This is especially true when looking at models with 8GB of unified memory.

However, in Canada and other regions such as the United States, some models are facing delays. For example, the 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro models with upgraded 16GB of unified memory are expected to be delivered by July 7. However, delays are more pronounced when considering devices with 24GB of unified memory. Apple’s website currently states that it can be delivered between August 4 and August 11.

In addition, some SSD configurations also experience slight delays. Models with 512GB or 1TB of SSD memory are also facing delays in July.

Apple is constantly dealing with product delays during the pandemic. Some models and configurations are affected more than others. In this case, the M2 MacBook Pro with 24GB of unified memory is severely affected. Of course, this delay may more than likely be the effect of a continuing shortage of components and manufacturing problems.

In addition to delays in new products, analysts and reports identify additional delays this year. It is said that there may be some delay in the iPhone 14. Although Apple is expected to release four new models, some may be affected by component shortages and severe blockages in China related to COVID-19.

In addition, reports claim that long-standing rumors of Apple’s mixed reality headphones have also met with delays due to production and other obstacles. Therefore, the edition is more likely to fall in early 2023.

As the technology industry continues to struggle with the effects of COVID-19 and the subsequent shortage of components, delays such as these can be expected.
