Singer and songwriter Brandy is not only about making hits, but obviously also about fixing fences.
At the BET 2022 Awards, the actor from “Queens” appeared surprisingly during the performance of Jack Harlow, demonstrating his rap skills, flexibility and longevity. She performed with the rapper from Louisville for his hit single “First Class”.
It was a big turnaround for Harlow, who in a May 97 interview on HOT 97 shyly admitted that he did not know that Brandy was related to R&B artist Ray J. He also failed to recognize Brandy’s 1998 hit “Angel in Disguise ”. Although it was all fun and games for Brandy, Twitter users criticized Harlow, urging white rappers to educate themselves about black music icons and black culture.
Therefore, Brandi remixed his single “First Class” with his own freestyle – fulfilling his mission to “stir this dude into a rap at 43 on his own beats and then sing [h]is an ass to sleep, ”as she tweeted before.

Harlow found himself in another controversy before this year’s BET Awards, after the list of nominees was announced, and the rapper Lil ‘Nas X expressed his disappointment online that he was ignored by the network. Fans pointed out that Harlow – who was featured on Lil Nas X’s hit song “Industry Baby” – not only performed, but was nominated for Best Rapper.
So it was not clear how the audience at the BET Awards would react to Harlow’s performance on Sunday’s show. Fortunately, Brandy decorated the stage with his presence and lifted the mood of the audience.
“It’s been over 20 years and I’m still a subject / The bitch costs a million and I feel like a philanthropist,” Brandi said. Torn between liking the performance and bringing it into a PR trick, fans sounded online.
