1Password has updated its secure item sharing option to support sharing documents and files that can be attached to any other 1Password item, such as logins, secure notes, and credit cards.
For those unfamiliar, sharing items with 1Password is the easiest way to share anything in your 1Password vault with anyone else. To do this, simply open the item in 1Password, go to the item’s menu and select “Share”.
When you share an item with 1Password, you’ll see two options. You can set an expiration date for the share link, as well as choose to share it with everyone who has the link or only with people you specify.
When the recipient clicks the link, they can copy each field individually or save a copy of the item to their own 1Password account. That last bit is optional, though: recipients don’t need to be 1Password customers to see a shared link.
To summarize: open the item in 1Password, share it, and send it. easy.
Item sharing is now available to all 1Password 8 users.
