For the past few years, Samsung has relied on a two-chipset approach for its Galaxy S-series — its in-house Exynos SoCs in regions like Europe and Asia, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips elsewhere. The performance differences between the two chipsets have naturally created controversy among consumers, and Samsung may finally put an end to this practice.
Famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Qualcomm will be the sole chipset supplier for the Galaxy S23 series with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (SM-8550) powering all S23 devices worldwide.
Kuo believes that Samsung is not confident in the performance of its upcoming Exynos 2300 chip compared to Qualcomm’s next flagship in terms of processing power and energy efficiency. There’s still a long way to go before we get to the Galaxy S23 series launch, so more information is sure to emerge.
