Could this be the Apple Watch Pro?

On Wednesday, September 7, Apple will hold its last special event and introduce new products. Of course, there will be new iPhones and possibly a new version of the AirPods Pro, but perhaps the most exciting release will be the new Apple Watch models. And now images have surfaced that claim to show the most intriguing of the new releases.

Apple is set to release a new Apple Watch SE, as an entry-level option. Then there’s the Apple Watch Series 8 with new sensors and capabilities. But the most attention is focused on what can be called the Apple Watch Pro.
It is reportedly a watch designed to be more robust and durable, ideal for those who are fans of extreme sports. It is said to be larger than previous watches and offer a new design.
Now, in renders shared by 91mobiles, the watch is extremely different from any seen before.
First, the front appears to be completely flat, rather than the curved glass of the Apple Watch Series 7. This could increase its strength and resistance to damage.
The report claims that the bezel will be very thin, so the larger watch will be able to house a 49mm display. By comparison, the largest watch to date has a 45mm screen.
So, as other rumors have said, this sounds like it’s going to be a big, bulky device that won’t appeal to everyone.

More interestingly, the Digital Crown appears to be larger, with sharper edges. And in a sharp departure from the current design, the Crown will be surrounded by a protruding body, perhaps to protect the Crown during those sporty moments it was designed for.
Could this be the Apple Watch Pro with a large side case?

If true, this case just stands out significantly, in what I would say is a slightly un-Apple-like look. No doubt the bump is stuffed to the guts with technology that allows for additional components or perhaps longer battery life. But it looks very different from any other Apple watch.
The renders also show a place for the current side button in the extended body and a separate button on the opposite side. This is something new that no one predicted.
Makes sense given the watch’s intended purpose. An additional button can add new metrics or make recording a run, climb or ride easier to manage.
Of course, renders like these only give an idea, not the final image, assuming they’re original, which isn’t certain. But they’re certainly a fascinating look at what we might see later this week.
