A Naramata resident tells Castanet that an outbuilding and trailer were burned in the Monday afternoon fire.
Resident Nikita Kitseluk says the fire was in her backyard.
Kitseluk tells Castanet that the fire appears to be under control.

A resident in the area tells Castanet that the fire appears to be under control.
BCWS says the Naramata Fire Service is taking responsibility, but wildfire crews are assisting with five officers and a helicopter.

ORIGINAL: 1:10 p.m.
A new forest fire has started in Naramata.
BC Wildfire says crews are currently responding.
Two helicopters are also reported to be en route and have long queues of buckets.
The extent of the fire is not yet known.
