Former Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner is being strongly considered to become Norwich City’s new head coach, according to reports.
The German-born coach, who achieved promotion with the Terriers in 2017, is reported to be a target for the Canaries as they search for a successor to Dean Smith.
David Wagner is a serious contender for the Norwich job. Of course things can change over time (usual caveats etc apply) but it’s very much a work in progress. #ncfc

Nick Mashiter of PA Sport and the Times, among other organisations, have reported that Wagner is a target for City.
Wagner entered the betting markets earlier on Wednesday and is now the favorite with many bookies such as SkyBet at ever-lower odds.
The 51-year-old was appointed as Huddersfield boss by current Norwich sporting director Stuart Webber in 2015 and enjoyed real success at the Yorkshire club, leading them to the Premier League for the first time in 45 years.
A year of Premier League survival followed before he left in January 2019 after a poor start to the campaign – Huddersfield were relegated.
Since then, Wagner has had spells in the Bundesliga with Schalke and in Switzerland with the Young Boys, seeing just 40 appearances in charge of both teams. The German is struggling to replicate his success at Huddersfield elsewhere.

Norwich do look increasingly likely to look abroad for Smith’s replacement, largely because of the costs involved. A short list has been drawn up, with many names currently being considered.
Interim boss Alan Russell will take over pre-match media duties on Thursday morning before leading Norwich into their Championship clash against Reading on Friday alongside Steve Weaver.
