OTTAWA — The federal New Democrats kick off a three-day caucus today with a keynote speech by leader Jagmeet Singh.
NDP MPs are meeting in Ottawa to discuss their priorities for the upcoming session.
Caucus Chair Jenny Kwan says they will include holding the Liberals to their word on pharmaceutical advances and supporting energy workers who may be affected by federal environmental policies.
Both are part of the confidence and delivery agreement the two parties signed last March, in which the NDP agreed to support a minority government in key votes through 2025.
Kwan says pulling out of the deal is an option if the Liberals don’t deliver on the NDP’s policy priorities.
The House of Commons is due to reconvene on January 30.
